Our purpose is to glorify God by sharing the love of Jesus with preschoolers and their families. By the time our kids enter Kindergarten, we want them to understand that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their best friend forever. Just as children are a rich heritage for both parents and the body of Christ, parents and members of the body play essential roles in making God’s love real to little children. It is our desire to come alongside parents in nurturing the faith of their children. Our responsibility is to prayerfully model and teach truth.

Sunday Morning Classes

Sunday morning classes during both morning services 9:00 am & 10:45 am.

Rainbow Room (2 years)

The morning begins with quiet supervised play. This play consists toys and activities such as puzzles, blocks, coloring, play dough and the reading of books. A snack of crackers and water is given. Attention to any potty-training is intertwined with the story, song time, and crafts, to finish off each hour. Caregivers pray for and with the children. The caregiver/child ratio is 1:4.

Blue Fish, Red Jungle, Green Frogs, & Yellow Birds (3- & 4-year-olds)

Meet in the Ark (North-East corner of the Family Center)

Children in these rooms begin with supervised play. A snack of crackers and water is given. Each of these rooms use the curriculum “He Established a Testimony: Old Testament Stories for Young Children” (Children Desiring God). Bible stories (along with scripture memorization) are presented to the children in a group format with Bible based curriculum. Each lesson’s Biblical truths are reinforced during the hour through play activities, puppets, coloring pages and adult/child conversation. Prayer is modeled for the children and teachers pray with the children.

Pre-K Builders (4-year-olds entering kindergarten in Fall)

The children in this class are being prepared for Riverpark kindergarten. The classroom is run with same structure they will find when they head upstairs the following year, or off to school in Fall. Building Christian Character is the theme for this year as again, their curriculum uses Old Testament Bible truths to reinforce Godly character. Snacks, stories, music, and organized game times surrounded with adult/child conversation and prayer.

Sunday Evenings

Sonbeams Choir

The preschool choir is a “lively” group of children ranging in age from three years through Kindergarten. Visit the Youth & Kid’s Choirs page for more info.

Tuesday Mornings

JOY Kids Ministry

Do you love children and are looking for a place to serve? Look no further. We need you! Our toddler classes are in need of three adults and two junior helpers on Tuesday mornings. If you are interested in helping or would like more information, please write “Joy Kids” on your communication card Sunday mornings or email terri (at) riverpark dot org.

JOY Kids run in conjunction with the Tuesday morning women’s Bible studies. This is a wonderful opportunity to work with our children as their mothers are able to spend time growing in God’s Word. We pride ourselves on the fact that this is NOT simply childcare, but an opportunity not missed to have the children learn about God’s Word, prayer, hymns, etc. The time is structured and yet tons of fun for the kids. Pray about taking a year or two (preferred) off of Bible study and instead invest in the lives of our children and God’s kingdom. No experience necessary, as you will be trained.

Wednesday Night Awana

This program is only for preschoolers who regularly attend Riverpark Bible Church (must be 3 by October 3).  Visit the Awana page for more info.

Ministry Application

All who are involved in ministry with our children are required to fill out our Ministry Application and return it to the church office.
