Show me Your glory
When Moses asked God to show him His glory (Ex. 33:18-19) - God granted the request. And God showed His glory by revealing His goodness. God's great glory is that He is good. But after showing His glory in His goodness - God revealed His glory in His sovereignty. "I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious. And will show compassion on whom I will show compassion." God has the right to choose who will receive His favor and who will not! He's the ruler of His universe in all things. From this we're reminded - God's goodness without His sovereignty does not adequately reveal His nature. We must see the two together. When goodness and sovereignty are put together we see God's glory. "The highest gem in the crown of God is His goodness. God is good and God is sovereign. He is not sovereign alone, but He is graciously sovereign (Spurgeon).
